Our sound policies have brought both economic stability and an improved quality of life to all Gibraltarians.
Gibraltar is safer, politically, internationally, socially and economically than ever before. The GSD will continue to meet the challenges that have afforded us the success that we enjoy today.
Modern or real Politics in the democratic world brings with it continuous change and new ideas, but more importantly it creates new agendas and pressing matters that affect society. These issues will often be driven by pressure groups and other organisations that form part and parcel of a greater accountability. They also help political parties adopt new policies or begin to focus more on particular policy issues of the day.
The GSD has always been open to such “stakeholder” politics, and we welcome other entities contributing to our policy formation and development.
We have extended the practice of consultation and of including interested stakeholders in government’s decision-making process – but without of course renouncing our obligation to govern and to be responsible for Gibraltar’s widest interests.
